As a multi-award winning documentary filmmaker, science journalist, and content strategist with over a decade of professional experience, I've dedicated my career to telling powerful stories at the intersection of documentary, human rights, and the digital revolution. I'm a true one-woman band: director, videographer, video editor, producer, and content strategist, but I much prefer the collaborative energy of a strong team. This is kind of embarrassing to admit, but as a child I would 'host' my own current affairs show in the mirror, including my signature arms-folded, cheesy smile, pose to camera for the fake opening credits. It was while studying broadcast journalism to make this childhood dream a reality that I realized I was far more at home behind the camera than in front of it. It was through the lens that I discovered my true passion as a visual storyteller. Born in Apartheid South Africa, I was exposed to the daily inequities faced by marginalized communities and developed a deep commitment to using my skills as an empathetic and creative storyteller for positive change in our world.I’m a science nerd, an advocate for social justice and a seasoned creative producer who thrives in environments that value collaboration, low-ego, and a commitment to making a difference. I’m endlessly curious about everything! With experience extending from roughing it on shoot in remote locations to creating a slick, studio-based show, I'm confident leading complex projects from concept to distribution, all while keeping a sense of humor and a passion for problem-solving. If your team could benefit from a skilled creative producer and manager, I'd love to chat!
