OTAM serve as a center in order to carry out of pre-production research and development studies and product testing jobs of the automotive industry and its suppliers, in cooperation with the university.I've been supervising testing activities done in OTAM A.S.I'm responsible of emission, performance and acoustics testing in OTAM's laboratories:- Vehicle Emission Testing Laboratory: OTAM with ITU, is recognised as a type approval authority in Turkey. We test brand-new vehicles according to European Standarts and give type approval regarding emission norms. Also Vehicle Emission Testing Laboratory is a COP (conformity of production ) center for most Turkish Automotive OEMs. - Engine Emission Testing Laboratory: Also in this lab we give type approval to mainly Turkish engine manufacturers. Both in these two laboratories we can do performance testing (power, torque measurements, oil/fuel additive development testing)- Semi Anechoic Acoustics Chamber: This laboratory has a silent chassis dyno in it, capable of running vehicles on it. In this laboratory, acoustic&vibration measurements are taken from a vehicle or an engine without the disturbance of background noise or reverberation of sound from the source. Show less

We are developing system and technologies for analyzing the data and automatically determining potentially dangerous situations (such as driver… Show more In this initiative, we propose to create conditions for prudent driving on highways and roadways with the purposes of reducing accidents caused by driver behavior. To achieve these primary goals, critical data will be collected from multimodal sensors (such as cameras, microphones, and other sensors) to build a unique databank on driver behavior. We are developing system and technologies for analyzing the data and automatically determining potentially dangerous situations (such as driver fatigue, distraction, drunk driving, etc.). Based on the findings from these studies, we will propose systems for warning the drivers and taking other precautionary measures to avoid accidents once a dangerous situation is detected. In order to address these issues a national consortium has been formed including Automotive Research Center (OTAM), Koç University, Istanbul Technical University, Sabancı University, Ford A.Ş., Renault A.Ş., and Tofas A.Ş.
