Progressed through a series of promotions, culminating in responsibility for the coordination, supervision and implementation of ASES funded After School Programming across 3 school sites within Oakland Unified School District. School sites include: Allendale Elementary, Rise Academy, and New Highland Elementary. Specific duties included: * Supervised and co facilitate group counseling sessions to caseload of 20+ identified at-risk youth (2nd-8th grade) with behavioral health specialist* Provided resources & coordinated services for identified students and families to increase school capacity in addressing mental + behavioral health concerns surrounding assistance for youth struggling with a variety of challenging life issues such as grief, trauma, homelessness, substance abuse and gang involvement, as well as for students in foster care and students with disabilities. * Created and facilitated parent workshops geared towards strengthening the advocacy skills of Black and Latino parents with students going through the SST, SAP, and IEP, and 504 plan process.*Lead yearly hiring process and selection of behavioral health case managers, academic tutors and interns, the scheduling, and assignment of approximately 40+ staff across four (4) elementary and middle school afterschool programs within Oakland Unified School District * Supervise, observe and evaluate all interns, afterschool program staff, and day time behavioral health case managers as well as provide fiscal management including program budget, payroll, and business expenses.*Consulted with school site personnel + school site social worker and collaboratively developed a plan to increase a positive school climate that fostered student achievement.*Significant Grant Writing + fundraising experience
