Project: Deep Eutectic Solvent Extracted Lignin as a Water-Repellent Coating Material for Menstrual Pads -Sole intern for PhD student and team researching sustainable materials, specifically to develop methods to manufacture menstrual pads in riverine communities; conducted data analysis while applying various hands-on techniques to extract plant lignin from agave plant to test flexibility, strength, and repellency.-Documented observations according to lab protocol; presented findings to the Principal Investigator-Additional responsibilities included assisting in the building of a novel Foldscope 2.0 (Paper Microscope)

-Participated in biweekly workshops addressing health technology processes that resulted in novel therapies, medical devices, and digital health solutions; specifically partnered with Element Science, a medical device company-Collaborated with team members to research disease conditions and treatment options for minimizing, recognizing, and treating sudden cardiac arrest to understand how patients can better use Element Science’s wearable cardiovascular devices; presented research findings to members of the Element Science team
