My PhD research area is unsupervised learning where I focus on the development of theory, methodology and algorithms for clustering. Clustering is a widely used multivariate data analysis procedure. I have developed a unified clustering approach that can estimate the number of clusters and returns a clustering solution against that number in one go. The proposed methodology is implemented in R and just needs data and absolutely no other parameters as an input. The algorithms also work with the distances between observations. I have applied this to pattern recognition, climate science and Genetics applications. Apart from this, my research interests are very broad. I am interested in machine learning and statistical modelling. I have also developed various randomize response survey sampling devices for the surveys that involve information about highly sensitive attributes. Show less
