As the Regional Team Leader (RTL), I provided overall leadership and management of the CaTSS project in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States in a manner that strengthened partnerships with the state government and other partners which and led to sustained HIV/AIDS prevention and control efforts. I spearheaded coordination, implementation and reporting of the CaTSS program in the States and ensured optimal resource management in the project states. As the RTL, I served as a member of the Project Management Team and responsible for overall project performance in my states of primary responsibility, leading to the development of an integrated CaTSS project plan for the States. Operationalized CaTSS project plan in the States ensuring efficient coordination of resources to maximize integration and synergy of program areas. Lead and managed the achievement of the CaTSS overall goal in the states. Established a system for project monitoring, evaluation and reporting to establish a functional state M&E data system with periodic analyses and review to inform program management. Had established a system for timely relevant technical support to all implementing health facilities. Taking responsibility for management of the states CaTSS project budget and all other resources under the direction of the Project Director. Advocated and represented MSH CaTSS project at the highest level in the states on matters of HIV/AIDS and TB. Liaised and networked with relevant CaTSS partners and collaborators in the state to improve MSH’s visibility. Supervised staff and managed staff performance and development. Provided clear documentation of programmatic achievements as well as required data and kept MSH senior management informed of state activities on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Deliver strategic leadership and oversight for healthcare plans including the development of an integrated state and LGA project plan in partnership with advisors and state teams. Successfully established comprehensive HIV and tuberculosis care & treatment with PMTCT services within the CaTSS focus states. Collaborated on capacity building while leading teams to focus on quality services at designated facilities while also ensuring underserviced communities receive appropriate care. Maintained strict eye on monitoring systems to ensure reporting measures effectively demonstrate project status and ongoing progress.In the capacity of the clinical care advisor for two years (2), I have supervised Two (2) clinical care specialist one from the other two states (Kebbi and Zamfara). During this phase I made sure workplan was drawn, costed and all activities were implemented in accordance to the work plan within the speculated time frame and ensured quality monthly and quarterly reporting writing.

Successfully produced and developed documentation and materials related to TB/HIV integration including clinical and training guidelines, protocol and procedures, and algorithms for drug formulates. Delivered effective HIV training to DOTS staff on counseling and testing while ensuring consistent quality and improvement of care and referral systems. Developed TB/HIV partnerships and integration links between health facilities and Government of Nigeria TB and leprosy control programs.

Served successfully in multiple leadership roles for various thematic areas including adults, pediatrics, PMTCT and the Orphan and Vulnerable Children services. Led and participated in activities as TB/HIV Officer, Care and Support Officer, and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. Implemented and supervised TB/HIV activities within facilities and the community with a solid focus on infection prevention and control. Served as technical lead for selecting the LGA and effectively led the advocacy team and mobilization drive.
