This is a farmer empowerment program. I am with 6 farmers in Blitar Regency, East Java. Activities during the program include recording daily egg and feed production, daily chicken body weight sampling, weekly Hen Day evaluations. Chicken health checks are carried out to analyze problems and diseases in laying hens. Every 2 weeks there will be a field school with practitioners and farmers to solve problems that have been collected for 2 weeks. Activities in the form of discussions, presentations, and simulations carried out by the FDA and activity participants

I became an assistant for practicum courses in the class of Animal Breeding Science, basic genetic analysis, basic ruminant and non-ruminant breeding techniques. I use several applications during the learning process, including Microsoft Excel, SPSS, MEGA, Bioedit and R programs. Several courses are also taught from my laboratory, including genetics, statistics, experimental design and research methodology classes.

During my internship, I learned how to ration chicken feed using the semi-self mix method, which combines corn, bran, and concentrate. I also learned how to vaccinate with various applications such as eye drops, chest injection, wing prick, subcutaneous injection. I learned how to handle chickens during the brooding period. Several times necropsies on pullet chickens and DOC. The owner is very concerned about the amount of crude protein consumed by the chickens, so during the internship they are taught how to calculate the crude protein consumed, metabolic energy, and related to other chicken nutrition.

My job is to come to national and international seminars, national discussion events such as the Pinsar Petelur Nasional (PPN) meeting. I have also been to the International Expo which was held in Surabaya, which is the largest livestock exhibition event in Indonesia. After that I will make a report and resume related to the course of the event. I've also written an opinion on Biosecurity in the poultry farming sector on the Poultry Indonesia online blog.
