Community Outreach Coordinator (October 1999 to September 2000) – Worked with the Retail Skills Center at Jersey Gardens Mall. Assisted the Director of the RSC with the implementation and the completion of programs and activities and made recommendations as appropriate. Established and maintained liaison with community-based organizations. Established agreements with community organizations regarding recruitment and systems of referral, intake, case management, and reviewed RSC services. Director of Neighborhood Revitalization (September 2000 to Present) – administration and coordination of the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of a Strategic Community Revitalization Plan (housing/economic/social services/community facilities) as well as develope novel approaches to meet the needs of the residents. The Neighborhood Empowerment Program received Best Practice Award from Governor Whitman in 2000 for the Eport Plan and in 2007 for the E’port Presbyterian Center Expansion Project. In this role I served as project manager on key neighborhood projects in which I leverage public and private gap funding based upon their regulatory limitation for neighborhood projects; oversee federal funding projects to ensure it is being utilized as regulated and prepare funders reports. I serve as Chair of the E’port Neighborhood Empowerment Council overseeing three other non-profit organizations plan, organize, and coordinate assignments on development projects. Additionally, I submitted a successful competitive Neighborhood Development Grant application to Wachovia Regional Foundation for $700,000 and an additional $250,000 in May 2009, prepared a successful $500,000 HUD Neighborhood Initiative Grant; oversee $2,000,000; and coordinate all aspects of development projects undertaken by Elizabeth Development Company (i.e. appraisals, acquisition, financing, etc.); implement, train and oversee individuals in the use of new software related to the projects.
