I am an enthusiastic scientist enjoying drug formulations and developing medical devices for 20 years. I have experienced the academic world, including Harvard Univ., Duke Univ, Arizona State Univ, and the Univ of Arizona. Last year, I joined the industry pursuing more practical, tangible research for the patients I closely interacted with when I was a community pharmacist. I worked in biomaterials, pharmaceutical nanotechnology, microfabrication, batch and continued mixing, advanced drug deliveries, and medical device development (In Vitro Diagnostics). I developed more than 40 new polymers for pharmaceutical applications and selected appropriate materials for several medical devices. My pharmaceutical and engineering background allowed me to reduce costs and save time and resources by selecting suitable biomaterials early in the development plan for drug formulations and medical devices.I have over 70 publications on drug delivery systems applying a wide range of technology (e.g., micro-emulsion, coacervation, nano-micellar techniques, electrospraying and electrospinning, microfluidic, and microfabrication). I was honored to be a servant leader as the head of the Department of Pharmaceutics, the head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Biomaterials, the head of Teaching Pharmacies, the director of the soft lithography laboratory, and the member of the National Board of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Biomaterials.
