My team and I worked closely with the members of the Bi-National Transportation Partnership, namely Transport Canada, the Michigan Department of Transportation and the US Federal Highway Administration as well as other Ontario agencies in support of the Partnership’s broader goal to build a new international gateway in Windsor-Detroit to serve Ontario’s long term economic needs. We provided support to the delivery of the Rt Hon Herb Gray Parkway, the extension of Highway 401 that will ultimately connect to the planned Canadian customs and inspection plaza, the bridge crossing of the Detroit River and the balance of new international gateway.In addition to the DRIC initiative, my team and I partnered with Transport Canada and led the investment of $300 M from the Let's Get Windsor and Essex Moving Strategy. These investments included; the expansion of Highway 401 approaching the City of Windsor, two road/rail grade separations in the City of Windsor, the redevelopment of the Windsor Detroit Tunnel Plaza, enhancements to the Windsor Detroit Truck Ferry facility, EA studies for major arterial roadway expansions and ATMS/ITS installations. -
