I work as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the Torres Lab at the Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology in projects related to microbial electrochemical technologies and sustainable options for wastewater treatment.

I work with Redox Tech in the research, development and implementation of products that remove contaminants of concern present in the environment. I continue to apply my knowledge and experience in environmental chemistry, microbiology and biotechnology to develop and optimize technologies from EOS and Redox Tech that are used in the remediation field, as well as working with environmental consultants and project managers to formulate successful strategies for their treatment sites.

I worked with EOS Remediation in the research and development of products that remove contaminants of concern present in the environment. Through my experience and knowledge in environmental chemistry, microbiology and biotechnology, I created and improved formulations for EOS that are used in bioremediation. I also aided environmental consultants and project managers to develop custom formulations and strategies for their specific treatment sites. Additionally, I oversaw that our current list of products meets the standards required to be successfully applied in the field.

Performed research on microbial electrochemical technologies under the supervision of Dr. Douglas Call and gained understanding of the microbial processes that occur in these technologies to examine how they can be optimized and harnessed to generate compounds of interest such as hydrogen gas and ammonium. • Published research results in two articles with a third manuscript pending publication.• Presented research at three international conferences. • Participated in the design and improvement of teaching materials and taught groups of up to 15 undergraduate students in the environmental chemistry and microbiology laboratories.

Worked on projects related to Microbial Electrochemical Technologies (METs), under the direction of Dr. Pascal Saikaly and supervision of Dr. Krishna Katuri. Performed research on hydrogen-producing bacteria for efficient generation of hydrogen gas, and the chemical and microbial analysis of communities present in Red Sea brine pools.

Helped to teach, to a group of 20 people, the basics of Mammalian and Plant Cell Tissue Culture in the Academic Laboratory. Additionally, I was involved in projects related to the extraction of plant-based natural products.
