After spending many years trying to figure out what it was I was meant to do, I realized counselling was where I wanted to be. As a Masters of Counselling Psychology student, I am developing the skills required to help individuals navigate a variety of challenges in their own lives. With a background in education, I am excited to begin my journey with a focus on counselling children and youth. The pandemic has had a negative impact on the younger generation's well-being and there are too few practitioners available to assist them. I aim to be able to fill the gaps in service for this group.I continue to develop the skills required to build positive and collaborative relationships with individuals I assist through my work at the Sexual Assault Crisis Line. Here I engage in active listening with the clients and work collaboratively to problem-solve.I am passionate about the outdoors and love exploring natural spaces in Canada.I am beginning my placement at a play-therapy clinic in January and will be a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in September 2023.
