Real Estate Broker

Experience is EVERYTHING!! I was "grandfathered" in the title of NC Certified Paralegal. When I talk with people, they are amazed I've been a real estate clerk for 36 years. To me it is like putting a puzzle together and I love puzzles. The end result - I helped someone purchase their new home by completing their loan package or preparing their deed, or I have helped someone complete the necessary documents to refinance for a better interest rate. Either way, it is a good feeling when you know you have done your best in helping someone. I go extra miles to make sure everything gets completed in a timely manner and properly. Nothing like a satisfied client!!

NAR required all associations to have an AE (Associate Executive). I was interviewed for the position and due to my qualifications, I was hired. Each year there is a new President, Vice-President, Secretary and two new Directors added to the Board. I must say, I have had such nice REALTORS to work for that love the position. Would not trade working with REALTORS!!! We have the BEST in our association!!

Barbara Broadwell was broker in charge of Brooks & Broadwell Realty when Ernestine Lewis died. After Lewis Realty was closed, Barbara agreed to let me hang my license in her office. I had taken the position as AE with the McDowell Board of REALTORS and could not list or sell property (except in certain positions). I had several companies that I BPOs for and did so under Barbara' supervision. Angela McGhee purchased the business and I continued working under Angela. We became friends. I decided in September be my own broker in charge and left Brooks & Broadwell Realty.

Hill Evans was Secretary/Treasurer for Lake Tahoma/Buck Creek Corporation and I did the work a Secretary/Treasurer would normally do for corporations. This included payroll, tax deposits, tax reports, paying bills, financial reports, minutes, letters etc. Hill Evans retired in July, 2014 and the position transferred to another member of Lake Tahoma Corporation.

I worked with Ernestine Lewis at night and on weekends. Ernestine Lewis died in May, 2006. I became broker in charge, closed her transactions and closed her office.
