Hi, I’m Faye, an English and American Literature graduate who studied at Manchester Metropolitan University. I am currently working full-time in admin whilst between my undergraduate degree and my postgraduate degree. Alongside my admin work for NG Bailey I am a voluntary ambassador for Girls Who Walk Manchester, a community-led walking/social group for women across Manchester. We host weekly walks and amazing events, collaborating with lots of other amazing businesses and communities to tackle loneliness and support women in making friends, trying new activities and pushing themselves out of their comfort zone within Manchester! Our team has achieved so many amazing things in such a short amount of time and our constant positive feedback reassures us that loneliness for women within Manchester is infact being combated with our help. Within my role I have co-coordinated a book club with over 400 members, led walks with up to 100 attendees and ran/assisted with events that serve for up-to 60 people at a time! Girls Who Walk Manchester is not only the most rewarding work but it has also shaped me into the person I am today. I feel much more confident in my own skin, have accumulated a number of communicative and organisation skills and I am so proud of the difference that me and our team are making to our city. Being a shoulder to lean on for thousands of women and supporting them in the best way possible makes me burst with pride and as a women in my 20s I am so honoured to help other women make these amazing changes to their lives that I myself have struggled to do in the past.
