I have built a solid reputation in the music industry for creative management of content and production. Commissioning music videos and films, supporting content, live performances, artwork and photography, design and templating of physical and digital product.My favourite part is starting the research and ideas element with the artist. Working on in-depth visual briefs and plans that feel unique and personal to the artist, that excite us all and feel like something we haven’t quite done before. Then it’s sourcing the right teams, developing treatments, contracting and getting started on creation. I am proud to say my quality of work and individual style has earned me recurring consultancy briefs with One Little Independent Records, Warner and, most notably, with BMG UK where I currently manage a number of their frontline releases. Creative projects for BMG UK currently include Louis Tomlinson, Danger Mouse & Black Thought, Tom Chaplin, Alt J, Hercules & Love Affair, Suede, Swindle, Soft Cell, Blue, HRVY, Wilkinson and Zach Witness. During the first lockdown the production process for music videos and content was inevitably affected and had to morph. Working directly with a small team was the only way to create content following current guidelines. Therefore, I set up my production company to carry out photoshoots, content, music video and live session shoots with directors and photographers independently. Allowing for budgets to remain workable, for teams to be safe and for creative content to be made. Projects include Album No. 8 with Katie Melua where we commissioned photographer Rosie Matheson to teach Katie to self shoot, HRVY’s latest EP with director Jackson Ducasse and my long term collaborator Joseph Hunter, and some incredibly inventive photography with Sam Neill for DJ Wilkinson’s new album. We also currently working with VIP Music Group on a development project with the young artist Menassa.

BCSA is an independent, non-political trade union. A staff association providing members with a better kind of protection at work. Faye supported the core team in the role of a freelance business manager from the drafting of the first business plan, to signing up the 1170th member less than two years later. As well as providing marketing, brand consultancy and online subscription development, she was responsible for general administration tasks including monthly accounting, online management, contracts of employment, scheduling and invoicing. She also developed their small business strategy for 2014, built the official website and is a proud member of their CEC to this day.

Ideas Britain is the World’s first private and government funded mobile innovation solution for ideas. An app and broadcast channel that combined, provide a new way to access opportunities and knowledge for ideas at any stage of development.Launching April 2015.

Tap2Connect build technology that improves customer satisfaction for global retailers. Increasing engagement through smart labels which users can tap using their mobile phones. The company was shortlisted as one of five start-ups to join a business incubator developed by John Lewis and VC investor Stuart Marks – JLAB. Faye was invited to take on the role of Producer for the duration of JLAB. She was able to work alongside the team to research, develop and produce a pitch for John Lewis and a number of VC investors. The role involved close communication with both John Lewis and external mentors -including Andrew Murphy (Retail Director, John Lewis), Julian Burnett (Head of IT Strategy, Architecture & Business Process Unit, John Lewis), Sara Murray (Confused.com, Buddi) and Stephanie Hussels (Senior Lecturer, Cranfield University). The pitch was very successful and resulted in John Lewis’ IT Director Paul Coby announcing a special Runners Up prize for Tap2Connect.

Be On The Scene is an online and live community for creatives. Focusing on music, fashion and art the aim is to be the go-to place for people looking to develop their talent and career. The site was officially launched in 2013 and has already achieved membership of over 1700 and a user base of 20,000. Faye works closely with the company director to develop and clarify the brand and offering within the music industry. Since joining in early 2014 she has successfully built an expert section within the site, brought onboard several industry partners offering discounts and support to members, set up a professional management service and launched the ‘BOTS Social’ events - a panel based networking event with industry professionals. She has also secured an exclusive partnership with Caffe Nero to support and promote new talent across the UK launching in November 2014.

Faye and her business partner developed a music company that was the first of its kind. With zero experience in the industry, a minute bit of investment and a lot of energy they developed a service company for independent artist and labels before ‘label services’ existed. Within a year they had been nominated for several innovation awards and had signed a sub-publishing deal with a major company to represent and sign artists in the UK. They went on to develop an independent investment model for VCs and artist management companies that they trialled with Toploader in 2011. Artists and labels Underdogs supported included… Kate Tempest, Toploader, Breakbeat Kaos (DJ Fresh, Adam F), The Fanclub, Pointless Entertainment (David Balfe – Food Records), These Furrows, Boy Kid Cloud, High Rankin, JD Smith, Hannah Boleyn and Black Daniel. Faye also developed a unique charity project for CALM whilst working with Underdogs, sourcing an angel investor for a music community project that spanned the UK.
