Fayeq has been involved in Localization and Language Services for over 20 years (full time at Google from 2011 to 2018, and as a Freelancer/ consultant since 2006) working on building and managing Localization and language services teams. In 2018, he founded his own business "Aqlama Language Services". He is the winner of Mohammed Bin Rashid Arabic Language Award. Areas of Expertise: Localization, Language Quality Management, Internationalization, Arabic Linguistics, Bi-Directional and Right-to-Left Languages, Project and Program Management, Vendor and Stakeholders Relations Management, People Management, Marketing & Communications, Public Speaking, Outreach & Evangelization. Fayeq has been promoting the use of the Arabic language on the Internet and has lead a number of initiative to increase and promote Arabic content. Aqlama Language Services is specialized in providing language services including: Localization, Translation, Transcription, Data Collection, Annotations, & Content Development. We have a network of over 500 freelancers located in Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Palestine, Peru, Turkey, Brazil, and India. For the past 4 years, we have localized over 3 Million words to Arabic, transcribed over 10000 hours of voice and video data, and collected over 10 million voice segments from thousands of participants around the world. We support Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and all major dialects: Egyptian, Levant, Gulf, Moroccan, and Iraqi. We also support other Middle Eastern Languages (Turkish, Farsi & Hebrew). Additionally, we support Indic languages with teams in India, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese with teams located in South America.Fayeq was a professor of Arabic Language and Culture at Santa Clara University University in California. He is an artist working on contemporary Islamic art and Arabic calligraphic compositions and has participated in a number of exhibits throughout the US and the Middle East. He designed the exterior entrance murals and the calligraphy of the dome at the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Fayeq also co-designed and directed the first Arabic/Islamic mural in San Francisco, and was a lead artist for the Palestinian Cultural mural honoring Dr. Edward Said at San Francisco State University. He served as the president of ZAWAYA, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Arabic art and culture. He is the author of an Award winning book "Encyclopedia of Arab American Artists," which features about 100 Arab American visual artists.
