Faysal Itani is an analyst with fifteen years of professional experience in geopolitical research and foreign policy. He is currently a Senior Director at the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy. Itani was a founding editor at New Lines Magazine. He teaches Security Studies at Georgetown University and Middle East politics at The George Washington University. Faysal's career has spanned the private and non-profit sectors including think tanks, private intelligence firms, and academia. His more recent work has focused on US foreign policy with an emphasis on the local, regional, and global dimensions of conflicts in the Middle East. He has worked closely with policymakers in Washington, D.C. to shape a US response to challenges and opportunities in the region. In this capacity Faysal has briefed multiple US government agencies. A native of Lebanon, he has travelled and worked extensively in the region including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Oman, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
