Joining EDISOFT team coming from the armed forces represents a meaningful way ahead of my career and a consolidation of my real world experience of more than 30 years in the Portuguese Navy.Three main areas, Defense, Aeronautics and Space are the tree pillars where my commitment and dedicated effort will support EDISOFT, a Thales group company, in order to achieve better results.It’s a real challenge and a special motivation to be able to actively contribute to the modernization of the Portuguese Armed Forces, in programs and capabilities that will make our soldiers more capable and better equipped to face the increasingly difficult scenarios and challenges of the future.I commit myself to this new endeavor two years ago, first acting as sales consultant and actually as head of Marketing and Business Development, working within a fantastic team of people ranging from “Technological Astronauts” that make things happen in space, to cyber specialists and extraordinary engineers.Together within EDISOFT governance team we defend a Strategic approach to promote national defense industries align with the customer requirements supported by a governmental guidance.We defend it as the Strategic Triangle Approach for the Promotion of National Defense Industry.Together we will deliver the systems and produce the solutions for future challenges on critical systems survivability and defense requirements.

Responsible for the planning and implementation of NATO led operations, bearing in mind theguidance and orientation received from the strategic level.Work in close cooperation, and under the umbrella of the comprehensive approach, together withother actors of the operational planning domain.

Liaise and coordinate all external relations with Foreign Defence attaches in Portugal promoting andrepresenting Portugal in the bilateral as well as multilateral staff talks, and coordinate the Portugueseattachés in foreign countries.Coordinate and establish the main roadmap for the Military technical cooperation with PortugueseAfrican Speaking countries and East Timor. Plan and advise the Chief of the Navy regarding, militarycooperation with Portuguese African Speaking countries and East Timor.Work in close cooperation with the Portuguese Ministry of defence for the areas of military technicalcooperation.Promote and develop a close liaison with the Universities in order to promote and disseminate thestrategic concept of the maritime domain.Coordinate and execute the protocol and diplomacy in the main events in the Portuguese Navy, andsupport the diplomatic and protocol activities of all the major units.Represent the Portuguese navy in external fora, as Frontex (Borders control operations), NATCGF(North Atlantic Coast Guard Fora), European Union and NATO.Coordinate a team in order to support the Portuguese naval staff in the Planning process and in theimplementation phase of all the external relations of the Portuguese Navy.
