Currently I am employed at the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration - Animal Health Division as a Veterinary Officer, where I am applying different methods on epidemiology, risk assessment, GIS and biostatistics. I am responsible of the qualitative rapid risk assessment performed at the DVFA.In 2008, I obtained a NUFFIC scholarship from the government of The Netherlands to carry out the MSc in Veterinary Science at Utrecht University, with emphasis on Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics, graduating in 2010. Then I moved to Copenhagen that same year to do a PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology at the Department of Large Animal Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, which I defended and obtained in 2013. This work included various aspects of risk analysis, epidemiology control, and surveillance. I was then employed as an epidemiologist at Avia-GIS, Zoersel, Belgium. I provided support to the on-going research and consultancy projects. Then I worked at the Veterinary Institute of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) as a PostDoc at the Section for Epidemiology, where I was part of a project to underpin decisions towards a strategy to control livestock associated LA-MRSA and limit its spread to humans.I've had experience at presenting my work in international conferences (SVEPM and ISVEE) and scientific meetings. I have given workshops on risk assessment in Colombia 🇨🇴, Mexico 🇲🇽 and South Africa 🇿🇦 both in Spanish and English, and professional workshops in Niger 🇳🇪, Senegal 🇸🇳 and Cape Verde 🇨🇻 in French and Portuguese.
