Leading "The Simulation" AI Product since 2021. A creator tool and simulation framework that pairs Generative AI and a game/interactive technologies. Agents within The Simulation make decisions on who, what, and how to interact within their worlds. Launched SAGA paper and related open source projects in 2024.

Working with an amazing team of VFX, Animation, and Game Engineers to create the first Virtual Beings (aka Digital-Humans). Shipped the Emmy Award winning VR Experience, Wolves in the Walls, working in Unreal, C++, and Python. R&D on various Generative ML Models for Text, Speech and Vision and created a novel technique for MoCap generation and pose similarity search (preparing to publish). Co-created the Faces4Coco dataset (announced at NeurIPS) for the ACI-Institute and leveraged it to create real-time human localization and identification tools integrating Unity3D and Zoom.

Founded the Applied Machine Learning (AML) team at Vimeo and worked closely with C-Suite and Product Managers to add ML features to Vimeo's offerings in Video Creator Tools and Livestream hardware at petabyte-scale and hundreds of millions of users. Shipped: Vimeo Stock Search including the ability to search with images. Various Search and Discovery improvements, Trust and Safety automation, and Machine Transcription using novel Deep Learning, NLP and Computer Vision techniques. R&D: Embedded CV for the Mevo camera, Video Intelligence for Vimeo's 400MM videos, Video Generation in Unity, and more. Speaker at VR and ML Conferences representing Vimeo.

* Improved Search at Vimeo by analysing top customer pain points, proposing improvements to our Elasticsearch stack, and working closely with the Search and Discovery team to implement. Results: no results searches decreased by 22%, overall site searches increased by 8%.* Researched and prototyped a Video Spam detection model able to catch 99% percent of targeted spam with very low false positives.* Led our team to first place at the 2017 VimeoJam Hackathon (internal).* Architected a scala+spark testing stack and local development environment to improve our recommendation engine development speed and reliability.* Organized a like-minded community within Vimeo to educate and advocate for things like docker and kubernetes.

Aidria was a smart, computer vision powered, phone-dock (Virtual Assistant) for the home. Our closest competitor was Amazon Echo, which was unveiled 4 months into our project. Instead of just a smart speaker though, we prototyped a dock that could move (rotate) and communicate via touch screen, voice and IoT devices.

LivIT (http://livithealth.com) is a mobile health startup that empowers remote collection and monitoring of health metrics, and provides patient management tools like dashboards and intelligent alerting for care providers.As VP of Product I owned the LivIT SAAS, Mobile, and API Products, and led the 6 member LivIT product team consisting of a project manager, designers and developers. I was responsible for converting a prototype into a marketable product, including market research, strategy, project idea generation, customer development, and project prioritization. I also spent half of my time working on code and implemented the data collection and alerting api in NodeJS.* Represented the company at the HIMSS 2014 Conference, initiating strategic partnerships. * Drove adoption of a “Lean” process to refocus the team on solving critical needs first.

Re-architected the music-artist platform with 350 artists like MichaelJackson.com and Beyonce.com to be much more performant and mobile-friendly. We needed to scale and I helped successfully architect and migrate our platform to the AWS cloud. In 2011 our group successfully fended off attacks from "Anonymous", in part, because of code that I wrote to harden our platform. I also worked on a recommender system to suggest new music to users and a gamification platform that dramatically increased fan engagement.

I was trained as an Airborne Paratrooper, Forward Observer (Artillery Scout), and Army Ranger cadet. My first tour was at South Korea's Camp Casey, near the DMZ. I was promoted to specialist and learned basic Korean. My second was the 3rd Infantry Division where I was promoted to sergeant and was one of 100K soldiers to invade Iraq March 20th, 2003. While stationed in Iraq, I was chosen from over 10,000 soldiers to serve as a trusted Aide and driver to 3ID Division Commanders, Gen. Blount and then Gen. Webster. I performed missions in and around Baghdad and worked with some of the most senior officers and pentagon officials. I maintained a (perfect/maximum) 300 physical training score throughout, was awarded top honors and commendations, but I'm most proud that I took care to mentor and train my teams well, I treated both the locals and enemy combatants with dignity, and I didn't lose any of my soldiers in Iraq.
