I oversaw the creative services and digital marketing/demand generation teams at Discovery Benefits, which involved providing strategic direction for all advertising, website and social media planning, corporate communications, marketing automation, content and product marketing functions.

Part graphic designer, part content curator and 100% brand evangelist. As Communications Director, I collaborated with other departments to manage communications in an effort to strengthen and uphold the Discovery Benefits brand — both internally and externally. I was responsible for creating and implementing strategic communications plans as well as designing brand collateral and creating content for a wide variety of communication pieces.

As Communications Coordinator, I was responsible for content planning and strategy for all online and print materials for the cooperative. I created and edited content for print (Highline Notes Magazine, North Dakota Living Magazine, advertisements, newsletters, event promotional materials and bill inserts) as well as for online channels (website, blogs and social media). As a proposal coordinator, I was responsible for the content creation and editing of a variety of materials within the marketing department, including proposals, ads, videos, brochures, direct mail pieces, newsletters, client-facing documents, website and social media content, etc. I also led a companywide rebranding effort and facilitated focus groups within the company to solicit feedback from leaders on ad concepts and brand messaging. As part of this initiative, I served on a branding committee to set and monitor adherence to brand guidelines for company communications. Additionally, I developed innovative layouts and designs for various marketing collateral, including proposals, brochures, posters, infographics and other branding material. In this role, I worked with agency clients to determine research needs and developed competitor intelligence reports to help clients extend the reach of their brand. I also created fresh content for the Prime Contact Research blog and social media sites to promote the agency's research services and compiled digital industry best practice newsletters for distribution to internal and external clients multiple times/week.Relevant skills included:- Survey development and data coding- Understanding of Constant Contact platform
