H. Frank Cervone is a faculty member and the program coordinator for the BS in Information Science and Data Analytics (BSISDA) program at San Jose State University. He has an extensive background in senior information technology leadership roles in education and health care at University of Illinois Chicago/UIHealth, Purdue University, and Northwestern University as well as work consulting in the private sector at Grant Thornton. His areas of research and teaching interests span numerous areas in information science including health informatics, cybersecurity, and knowledge management and the various intersections between these areas. He is a founding member of the International Collaboratory for Knowledge Management Research (ICKMR) and is an active member of both HIMSS (Health Information Management Systems Society) and AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association).He has an MSEd with a specialization in Online Teaching and Learning from California State University East Bay, a Master of Public Health from the University of Essex, as well as a Ph.D. in Management and Information Systems from Northcentral University. In addition he holds numerous certifications including CPHIMS (Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems), CHPS (Certified in Health Privacy and Security), and CCSA (Certified Cybersecurity Analyst).
