Developer for a new web-based infrastructure management application, allowing users to install agents on remote system to manage and configure infrastructure, agent archives, and users. Development of the new application was focused on working in both tablet and desktop environments and made use of HTML5, Backbone, jQuery, and Handlebars. Led a prototype effort to investigate the benefits of incorporating React.js into the product.Part of a two-person team responsible for migrating the product's underlying portal technology from Liferay CE to the latest Liferay EE version. Worked support issues with Liferay support team. Required porting previous customizations of Java, JSP, JS, and CSS to the new version. Requested and integrated Liferay patches. Resolved build issues. Worked closely with documentation team on upgrade docs, and QA to identify areas of risk to target for testing. After migration, acted as lead developer for all customizations and defect resolutions related to Liferay. Investigated potential SAML/SSO solutions and worked with Liferay on final solution.Part of a two-person team responsible for creating a Portlet SDK, allowing developers to quickly create new Liferay portlets for our product. Provided training and demos. Wrote unit tests. Worked with user experience engineers on an included style guide.Lead developer for our embedded Tomcat solution used to host multiple webapps including the new administrative console. Addressed issues uncovered from security audit.Assisted with localization process for the entire product. Created process documentation and setup shared VM for easy rotation of localization responsibilities and provided training. Modified scripts as necessary to package files to be delivered to translation team. Answered translation questions. Integrated translated files into code base.
