Head of Loans and Risks department in the Executive IT Delivery Direction, I led a team with more than 50 IT professionals, implementing requirements for origination, credit and risk through different kind of platforms / architectures such as mainframe, AIX and Intel. As a secondary role, I was accountable on behalf of Software Engineering Director for digital seal of customer bank statements and invoicing both project and stabilization of operation, based on ultimate Mexican tax regulations.

I led a successful tech acquisition and integration of BPM architecture (Business Process Management), implementing in Dominican Republic a solution of customer service inquiries. Besides, I was head of the Transformation Program office, being the largest technology project in the history of Scotiabank, crossing by development, infrastructure projects and information security and architecture as well. I controlled and directed the implementation of more than 250 projects with excellent results committed in the program.

I boosted many tasks by 50% of the action plan in order to manage and implement Everest project in Scotiabank Mexico, which was focused on the replacement of several ancient systems of commercial banking with COBIS core banking applications.

I successfully executed many projects and services for core banking business. Managing a portfolio of 12 accounts with more than 60 resources allocated on Panama, Central America and Mexico. The clients in this portfolio were: Banco General, Banitsmo, Global Bank, Atlantic Security Bank and Towerbank in Panama; Scotiabank in Mexico; Agromercantil, Banco de Desarrollo Rural, Banco de Occidente and Banco Inmobiliario in Guatemala, Grupo Financiero Cuscatlan (currently Citibank) in El Salvador, Costa Rica and Guatemala as well; and finally Banco de Finanzas in Nicaragua. In this last client, I took over a project which was late to production and $300 thousand over budget, and successfully implemented in just 4 months.

I satisfactory implemented a complete core banking system for Banco Agromercantil – Guatemala, a branch solution for Banco de Occidente – Guatemala and diverse core banking applications for Banco Macro – Argentina.Also at this time I provided support and IT consultancy in: Banco Granahorrar and Banco Agrario in Colombia and Banco de Desarrollo Rural in Guatemala.

I executed a proof of concept to validate digitalization checks product feasibility. Developed new analytics to improve IT processes. Researching new trends and technologies leading to testing and justification for deployment.

I executed three projects of enormous scale at Banco General in Panama: core system migration during merge and acquisition of Bancomer, new branch operating model implementation and Advancement and Transformation project conclusion. In the last project I also provided consultant services in several banking functions (software applications).I developed new adaptation process of a traditional credit system to a joint banking model (micro finance) at Banco Solidario in Bolivia. Finally, I provided support of different software engineering, such as: time deposit and accounting functionality to Banco La Previsora and Banco de Prestamos in Ecuador.

In the brokerage house system implementation project, I collaborated with product and engineering team members to define and develop accounting reports. Coordinated with end user to test before launch the product, instrumenting and modifying Oracle code to improve software quality and reliability.
