This program was similar to the one followed by the Central Bank with its external managers. • Actively managed different portfolios of local government debt through neutral duration and long/short trades, in order to produce alpha (a yield higher than the one produced by a benchmark portfolio).• The USD dollar portfolio had the objective to track the Merryl Lynch 1-3Y index with a minimum tracking error. The portfolio was worth USD 1 billion.• Oversaw and managed portfolios that guaranteed the payment of bonds issued by Fogafin in 1999 with an outstanding amount of USD 500 million.
