The Mission of Deon Lendore Foundation is to empower young student-athletes to succeed through sports and education, and to guide their families with accurate information to prepare their children for optimal academic and athletic growth.Our vision is a future where every student-athlete is excelling in education and sports and is a contributing and productive member of their community. The Vice President for Engagement works with the Foundation President, Vice Presidents and the Foundation’s Board to provide overall direction for the Foundation’s engagement strategies across all the communities it serves. He has overall supervisory responsibility of the Foundation’s community engagement staff, and plays a coordinating role in connecting community needs and opportunities with developing resources and initiatives, including: Designing and directing staff in community engagement activities with municipal, business and other civic leaders; Designing and directing staff in community engagement activities in theHarambee Neighborhood, including engagement activities with business owners, faith community leaders, residents and community groups;

I kept the mayor up to date on business, economic development, community development and jobs related issues in the city. In that role he had the opportunity to meet with hundreds of businesses and organizations, big and small. I lobbied the Whitehouse to designate Milwaukee as one of the cities participating in the Urban Entrepreneur Partnership Program. I establish the mayor’s Summer Jobs Program for Youth, which provided almost 1000 jobs for Milwaukee’s youths in 2006. I served on the city’s Communications and Information Management Committee and was part of the team that negotiated the city’s wifi agreement with the private sector.

Lobbyist, Broydrick and AssociatesI lobbied public officials on Local, State and Federal issues and assisted legislators with the preparation of bills. I planned and executed political campaigns on the local level; met with public officials regularly to discuss issues affecting clients and provided grassroots services to clients needing government approval to execute their business objectives. Clients included, but not limited to, WE-Energies, MPS, Aurora, Cingular Wireless and Metropolitan Milwaukee Sewerage District.

V.P. of Service Delivery, Kedestra, Inc.Negotiated service contracts with IBM for a local e-commerce startup, Kedestra. Kedestra was formed to broker commercial real estate data utilizing proprietary web-enabled tools created by the company. Director of Back-office Technologies, IndustarManaged the selection, implementation and configuration of wireless and computer technologies for a local wireless startup, Industar. Worked with other telecommunications firms from around the world, such as Kanamatsu of Japan, Hughes Aircraft Company, AT&T Wireless, Nokia, Eriksson, Motorola and Ameritech.
