[Volunteer work] Kickstarting a nation-wide Data for Good movement.

I was President of the local Bioengineering Students’ Association, NEB - FEUP/ICBAS, managing a team of about 30 students that worked daily to endow Bioengineering students with the tools and opportunities to amplify their university experience.NEB - FEUP/ICBAS has a target universe of about 400 students of the University of Porto and is the entitity behind the Symposium on Bioengineering, a student-organised event that brings together about 450 college students from all over Portugal, highly distinguished scientists and health tech startups.

As representative of the Biomedical Engineering branch, I was one of the main organizers behind the 7th Symposium on Bioengineering, scientific event that brought together 400 college students and 30 distinguised scientists and health tech startups from 6 different countries.My work included coming up with the event's concept, pitching it to potential partners, contacting scientists and companies and overall logistic execution.

Internship, under Frank Gijsen, in a multi-discplinary environment focused on biomechanical analysis of atherosclerosis through imaging and numerical simulation. I developed sofware tools for publication-quality, semi-automated segmentation of large datasets of X-Ray imaging data, in close cooperation with end users.

Monitor in University of Porto's Summer Camp for high school students, Universidade Júnior, mentoring them during execution of Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering experiments.
