Since my early days growing up, my imagination has always run wild, with countless hours spent daydreaming the most vivid and wildest scenarios and ideas my mind could conjure. My desire to come up with my own answers for how things worked met with varied results – sometimes reality simply didn’t match up to how I envisioned things in my head. And yet, I discovered that even the most disappointing conclusions often yielded some truth, a revealing of new ideas and avenues that would never been explored otherwise. Indeed, I would attribute many of my successes to my expansive imagination and drive to explore the unorthodox and overlooked.And yet, no matter how many times reality has clashed with my imagination, I always find myself reaching the same conclusion I had during my childhood. With my B.A in Graphic Design, I initially would have never imagined the start of my professional career being in the U.S. Army and later as a Deputy Sheriff in the San Diego Sheriff’s Department – but looking back, I know those roles were truly an extension of my desire to serve others. I was privileged to not only do just that, but gain invaluable experience discovering my own capabilities and learning a diverse breadth of viewpoints and ideas I would never have been exposed to otherwise.I take great pride in my previous positions, but I find myself once again looking towards even more opportunities just waiting to be discovered, and to which I can put my strengths skills, and experience to service. I enjoy honing my craft both personally and professionally, and I find particular joy in learning new skills and seeing how I can apply them. My greatest hope and desire is that I will be able to make my ideas a reality for the betterment of other people, my organization, and the world we live in.
