My experience was a blend of client and contractor support services in the form of architectural project development and coordination from design to delivery phases. As a member of the global retail studio we worked for a variety of service and product based retail clients regional and nationwide. Day to day experience involved client collaboration and productive coordination to deliver customized designs. These designs then become permitted retail tenant improvement projects or ground-up stores. Project phase experience included design development, construction documentation, and construction administration services working directly with clients, consultants, landlords, city officials, and contractors.Project experiences started with Nordstrom Rack tenant improvement projects, delivering refreshed designs across the country. This work led to joining a small team charged with delivering a revitalized store design for Petco Animal Supplies. My involvement grew throughout design development into acting project lead during documentation and construction phases. Other clients included a ground-up store design for Capitol One bank, and tenant improvements for William-Sonoma's West Elm brand.Typical processes included client programming, space planning design, engineering coordination, sketch/drawing production, timeline scheduling, detailing, materials/product research and selection, code research, construction administration (submittals, RFI, change orders), and general project tracking.

Participated in a collaborative design+build studio funded by a HUD grant to develop strategies for affordable/sustainable housing. Under the supervision of Dana Walker, of Pyatok Architects, we lead a team of students, consultants, and local builders associated with the Yakama Nation Housing Authority in Yakama, WA. Through this effort the team chose two methods of building construction and utilized them to develop and build a two-house duplex for extended family living in a rural environment. Using structural insulated panels (SIPs) and advanced framing techniques the team worked with Yakama building officials and skilled laborers to promote strategies for efficiently heating and cooling homes while also encouraging extended family connections within a neighborhood environment.
