Repsol Caribbean Business Unit covers explorations and development activities in a number of countries in the Caribbean archipelago as well as a number of Latin American countries. Major assets currently being developed by Repsol are; Cardon IV and Carabobo projects in Venezuela, Teak, Samaan & Poui operations in Trinidad & Tobago and new development projects in Colombia. The region also includes Nicaragua, Aruba, Guyana and Suriname where currently most of the activities are going through Exploration phase. Repsol portfolio in the Caribbean region covers also the Deep Water blocks.

Repsol is one of the main active operators in the Caribbean region, with operations in the Teak, Samaan and Poui (TSP) marine blocks in Trinidad & Tobago, off the southeast coast of the island holding a 70% interest.Asset Integrity is one of the key challenges in not only maintaining the current rate of production but more so to increase production levels. Other challenges include investigation to new technology for the enhancement of integrity monitoring of the overall system comprising of; 14 platforms, interfiled flowlines and over 300 Km of export pipelines.During 2011/2012, 3-D seismic data collection was carried out to assess the remaining exploration potential of this asset. Following the above, in 2013, two (2) drilling rigs were mobilized and assigned to the asset for infill drilling and Exploration activities.

Activities in 2012/2013 were focused on the construction of the Gas Processing plant in Western Siberia in the Khanty-Mansiysk region of Russia. The key project challenges were developing a Project Management Team to supervise and control the project activities and planning logistics, as well as managing and interfacing with the Contractors, all with a high focus on HSE issues. The commissioning of the Syskonsyninskoye (SK) field facilities was achieved on 22nd February 2013 where Repsol and Alliance Oil have begun commercial gas production, marking the first success of the A&R Oil and Gaz BV (AROG) joint venture created to explore for and produce hydrocarbons in Russia.Initial daily gas production is 855,000 cubic metres (5,350 barrels of oil equivalent per day) and is being delivered to the Gazprom transportation network. To date, 5 production wells have been drilled and 3 of them have been put into operation. Further development of the field in the coming year envisages drilling 6 more wells from 5 locations by early 2014 and increase production level to 95 MM scf/d after commissioning of the compression system in 1Q 2016. The Booster Compressor facilities design is currently at the FEED stage.

Repsol Sinopec Brasil BU deepwater assets include;a) Santos Block 9 Pre-Salt (BM-S-9), Guara & Carioca Fields are located in 2,200 meter water depth in the Santos region offshore Brazil. The Guara field will have a production of 270,000 bbl/day through two (2) FPSOs. The Carioca field will have amximum production capacity of 150,000 bbl/day through one (1) FPSO. The produced gas is evacuated via pipelines. Repsol Sinopec has a 25% interest in BM-S-9.b) Albacora Leste is a producing firld with approximate production capacity of 100,000 bbl/d via a FPSO commissioned in 2006. Repsol´s have a 10% interest in Albacora Leste.
