Freelance work for Barbican Creative Learning: June 2015: Created a music / art installation in collaboration with Saied Silbak and Persiis Hajiyanni titled ‘Sound / Shadow’, which was exhibited in The Rag Factory, Brick Lane, as part of Curious 2015. We created a string instrument that explored the journey of a sound wave as it travels around a room.April 2015: Assisted with the facilitation of Future Band for children and young people, leading a brass / drums group through a composition process, which we performed in the Barbican Foyer.Oct 2014 - Feb 2015: Played french horn and assisted with the delivery of The Messengers, a creative music project for the homeless in a partnership between Barbican Creative Learning, Guildhall School of Music and St. Mungo’s.Nov 2014 - Mar 2015: Delivered music workshops for patients in the re-enablement ward at the Royal Free Hospital. This was with a group of people, singing songs and sharing our musical backgrounds / skills with recovering patients, and involving them in the music making.Feb 2015: Delivered a 5 week series of music workshops at ‘Core Arts’ in Homerton for people with mental health illnesses. We composed two group pieces together based on the concept of ‘Peoples’ Songs’ and performed in the ‘Barbican Centre’ as part of ‘Barbican Dialogue 2015.’Oct 2014: Delivered a series of music workshops for a GCSE music class at Morpeth School in Bethnal Green. We developed original music and poetry which was performed within the school. Feb 2014: Organised a sound booth at the ‘Weekender Festival’ 2014. I recorded poetry that participants had composed about their experience in the ‘Momentum’ exhibit. These recordings were subsequently turned into a soundscape which was played on loop at the exit of the exhibit throughout the weekend. Sep 2013 - May 2015: Assisted on ‘Big Barbican Workshop’ series which give primary and secondary school classes a taste of various art forms over the course of a day.

Help with the delivering of various creative music / cross-arts projects:October 2015: Co-delivered a training workshop titled ‘Poetry and Music. Creative connections in the classroom’, as part of the Music Learning Revolution conference organised by Musical Futures.July - September 2015: Assisted and led on the ‘Soundwaves’ creative arts project in Letterkenny, Ireland which helped a group of 13-19 year olds explore their musical boundaries and develop the skills needed as a 21st Century musician. The participants formed 5 groups, I worked with ‘Advanced Utopia’ facilitating the creation of their song ‘Black & White’, which we then recorded and produced together. You can find out more about the project and watch the music videos at: soundwavesireland.wordpress.comAugust 2014: Helped facilitate creative cross-arts project with young musicians from Derry in ‘Echo Echo Dance Theatre’. My role included incorporating technology into the creative process. The participants were given the task of recording audio samples on their mobiles around the city. I then ran a session which used these samples to create a city soundscape which was used as the backdrop for a live performance piece. I also recorded and mixed the live performance.February 2014: Assisted on Musical Futures two-day training course in Belfast. This was a course for Music teachers in Northern Ireland to guide them in facilitating Musical Futures workshops in their classrooms. December 2013: Mixed and mastered recordings from “Once in a Blue Moon” project for DVD of the concert.April / July 2013: Helped facilitate a creative music workshop with young musicians as part of a commission to create 30 minutes worth of music for the ‘At Sixes and Sevens’ project in Derry. This was a joint commission from ‘The Honorable The Irish Society’ for Sir Mark Anthony Turnidge / Paul Muldoon to compose a cantata which includes windows from the young musicians working with Wall2Wall Music.

November 2015: Recorded / produced ‘Name above all Names’ by Jo Morgan.November 2015: Recorded Festive Flutes 30th Anniversary concert at The Old Queens Head, Essex Road.August 2015: Recorded a set of traditional Irish songs with singer Emma Lusby titled ‘Songs of the Red River’.November 2014 - Present: Play bass for David Sinclair 4, a blues / rock and roll band. October 2013 - Present: Play french horn and compose with creative music collective ‘Impossibilities’, with a performances in the Barbican Centre, Guildhall’s Milton Court Studio Theatre, Fish Island in Hackney Wick, and ‘Rich Mix’ in Shoreditch as part of the ‘EFG London Jazz Festival’.November 2014: Performed french horn for under 4 year olds as part of Hackney Development and Music Trusts’ Music Box programme.Nov 2013 - May 2014: Worked at Gess Productions, engineering and producing vocal sessions, along with post-production including editing and mixing.June 2013: Ran a day long ‘pop-up’ studio for the Blast Furnace in Derry, Northern Ireland, as part of the UK City of Culture 2013. This consisted of running hour long slots that musicians had booked to record a song, with the finished product being delivered to them at the end of their time.February 2013: Recorded the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at Poole Lighthouse.November 2012: Recorded Brodsky Quartet in concert at King’s Place, London.October 2012: Recorded a track for Northern Irish band Wonder Villains.May 2012: Composed the soundtrack for a short film titled “Circus Trick”. 2010 - 2013: Formed the S.M.S Jazz trio, in which I played bass. We played gigs in and around Guildford, playing jazz standards along with some of our own arrangements and compositions. 2004 - 2013: Played the French Horn in various orchestras, including orchestral tours to Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Prague, Poland and France playing in some awe-inspiring venues.

Worked for a year with World of Sound (WoS), recording brass bands on location. My responsibilities included loading the van, rigging, engineering, auditioning takes, editing, and mastering. During my time there I received several album credits for engineering, post-production and mastering. I was also responsible for the maintenance of equipment, including fault finding and fixing.While with WoS the opportunity arose for me to travel to New York and engineer an album for the New York Staff Band. This was the first time WoS had been asked to record in the U.S.A, meaning I had to uphold a high level of professionalism, in order to impress new and potentially significant clients. I believe we achieved this as everyone was enthusiastic at the end of the recording weekend and WoS have since been back to the U.S.A for more recordings.

During my time at the University of Surrey I learned about the physics and theory behind sound recording as well as having plenty of time.
