    CareSilk S.r.l.s is an innovative start-up company supported by the Technological District Dhitech (Lecce). CareSilk has developed a method to produce antibacterial silk directly by the silkworms by feeding them with silver treated mulberry leaves. For this project, CareSilk has been awarded prizes by Start-cup Puglia competition, as both winner of the “Life Section” section and “Absolute Winner” of the whole competition. Moreover, CareSilk has received “Franci@innovazione” Prize from the French Embassy at the “National Innovation Prize” competition. Caresilk aims to market silk fibroin and sericin (with and without the plus of antibacterial properties) to companies and research centres interested in the development of advanced products for biomedical and cosmetic applications.
