From 1994 to 2001 she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Interporto di Rivalta Scrivia SpA and of Finaval SpA, companies operating in the shipping and logistics sector.From 2001 to 2019 she was CEO of PB Tankers SpA, the shipping division of the Pietro Barbaro Group, of which group she became Chief Executive Officer and President in 2017.The Pietro Barbaro Group operates in various sectors of shipping (oil and gas) and related services. Furthermore, it also operates in the tourism and hotel sector. Since 2021 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Caltagirone Editore, a holding company at the head of many publishing companies and operating companies in the field of newspapers and advertising.He is also a member of the Risk Control Committee of Caltagirone Editori. Since 2021 he has been a Board Member of Kairos Partners SGR SPA, a wealth & asset management company, Julius Baer group and holds the position of President of the Sustainability Committee. Federica Barbaro is part of the Executive Committee of the Italian Shipowners Confederation and is President of the Technical Group for International Transport and Logistics, Regulations and International Organizations and Security.He is a member of the "Internationalization" Group of Confindustria and a member of the SRM scientific committee, Studi Ricerche Mezzogiorno.
