Nature is a teacher that never runs out of lessons. I have always been amazed by how much we can learn from it and then turn this knowledge into solutions for our human problems.My strongest passions are for plants and biotechnologies. Plants play a pivotal role in fulfilling society’s needs, from food to industrial resources, and I believe that innovations in this research field are key for a better future. This has driven my academic career, from my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biotechnology and Food Biotechnology, until my last experience as PhD candidate in Molecular Plant Biology.In particular, this role allowed me to significantly expand my knowledge and build my professional profile. As my research was progressing, I have acquired a lot of valuable expertise over the years, such as in vitro plant growth and confocal microscopy for the analysis of mutants, as well as CRISPR-Cas9 mutagenesis and in-depth knowledge of molecular cloning. Besides the wet lab, the job has extended also in the growing chambers, where I had to take care of soil-grown plants for Agrobacterium transformation and manual crossing.Apart from these technical aspects, the PhD experience helped me to become a dedicated and resourceful employee. While advancing in my research, I have been improving my time and project management skills. Problem-solving and planning were common in my daily routine, and through them I developed a mature critical thinking.My international experience also played an important role in shaping the present me. The exchange stay in the Netherlands and working in Germany made me an open-minded and highly-adaptable person. I love getting in touch with people from different countries and cultures, as I see it as a great chance to build connections and learn from each other. In fact, anywhere I went, I was able to create a small network of friends and become a valuable team-member.I am an enthusiastic researcher, constantly curious and excited of learning new skills. I am looking for new opportunities that will allow me to develop new technologies and to expand my toolset of expertise.
