I am a lawyer specialized in environmental law, policy and governance. I studied law and philosophy at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (which ranks among the five best universities in Latin America, QS Universities Rankings 2024). I have a Diploma in Environment and Sustainable Development, and a Minor in Modern and Contemporary Philosophy, both from the same university. I also hold a Master of Laws degree, with a focus on international environmental law, from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.During my studies I was awarded with the “Parallel Degrees Scholarship” at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and at McGill University I was distinguished with the award “Graduate Excellence Award in Law”.In Chile, I have worked at the renowned law firms Carey y Cía, and Urenda Rencoret Orrego & Dörr (UROD), in the areas of environmental law, natural resources and Indigenous law. I was Head of the Environment Department of the Chilean Corporation for Indigenous Development, and senior lawyer at the Chilean Ministry of Environment. In Canada, I have worked as Policy Analyst in the International Affairs Branch of Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and legal consultant at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). I am currently working as legal consultant with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).In the academia, I have been a university professor at the University of Temuco, Chile, where I taught the undergraduate course “Environmental Law”, I taught modules in the Environmental Law Postgraduate Programme on environmental impact assessment and Indigenous peoples rights, and I was a thesis guide professor, on topics such as waste management and conciliation approaches for conflict resolution in environmental litigation. Additionally, I have conducted several researches on environmental policies, both national and international, and have published articles on environmental issues in academic journals in Canada, the United States and Chile.

One on the implementation of the Chilean framework law on waste management; and the other on the conciliation as an alternative mechanism for conflict resolution in the Environmental Courts. Both were qualified with maximum distinction by a panel of impartial lawyers and academics.
