I am a Saginaw Chippewa descendant born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I am currently a PhD candidate in the American Studies program at the University of Minnesota, where I am a part of the Critical Indigenous Studies cohort. My doctoral work, "Feeding Our Future: Indigenous Food Sovereignty and Anishinaabe Youth Education," considers how food sovereignty offers pathways for Indigenous epistemologies in history education for Native youth in the Twin Cities. I have been involved in research, coordination, and community organizing efforts in nonprofit organizations across the country, like The Greenlining Institute, Dream of Wild Health, and the Midwest Environmental Justice Network. I am passionate about Indigenous food sovereignty, Native youth development, and social justice work.
