In charge of all verification activities for VLSI bridge chips for all products. This consists of a team of 20 engineers dedicated to making sure that the design of the many North and South bridge ships designed at Apple would work on the very first try. All chips designed during my tenure achieved this and only a few minor metal changes were necessary for full functionality. One of the North bridge chips contains three high performance 4-stream digital signal processors. Wrote an assembler, code analyzer and simulator for the signal processor. Wrote code in Perl/MySQL to display bug tracking information. Tested hardware algorithms in Perl.

With a team of 5 programmers built an extremely complex model of the Raycer Graphics engine (~800 pipeline stages in C++). The model was used for both architectural studies and as a co-simulation tool with the Graphic Engine RTL for random and directed tests. I also managed the design verification, CAD, Directed and Random test development, test bench development and the regression testing effort.

This chip is still in production serving many embedded system applications.Logic Manager for the Magellan Project which combined the UltasSparc with a memory controller and a PCI Interface.Sr. Emulation team member for the Spitfire Project (UltraSparc I). Emulated the UltraSparc I processor on a QuickTurn Enterprise System. This involved writing a number of C and Perl programs and scripts to make the data conform to Quickturn hardware and software requirements.

Participated in every aspect of bring a multi-user computer system to market. Inner Access had three models of a 68K based multiuser computer system that competed with Aplha Micro Computer. They also engaged in embedded systems development and disk and tape backup subsystem products.

As founder was involved in the design of high performance disk controllers for minicomputers. Controllers used track buffers, seek reordering and overlapping and PLL data detection. The controllers were for several minicomputer architectures and accomodated four Trident SMD drives.

Managed Northern California Lab leading the design team which developed a sophisticated, high successful, automated design system for printed circuit boards. Devised the first program to use the A* AI algorithm for the routing of printed circuit boards. Also devised the highly successful bounded channel algorithm for component placement.
