Roy is a visual technologist. As a software engineer, author and founder and CEO of Doubletake Images, OrbReality and EmergeX.ai, he is credited as the inventor of predictive text used in cell phones, and creates scientific software applications dealing with artificial life, artificial intelligence, time-lapse and forensic image analysis. He was invited to present his novel theory on animal vision to scientists at N.I.S.T.The author of three books focused on the evolutionary underpinnings of human behavior, his books have been translated into ten languages and featured on Dr. Phil , CNN, CBS The Talk, NPR, and hundreds of radio shows. As a pioneer in the field of software-generated photographic mosaics, Roy was the featured artist for Disneyland's 50th anniversary, where he created 38 giant murals including the largest mosaic ever made (10,000 sq ft featuring live performers). He also created the world's first tri-level mosaic. He was the featured artist for the 50th Grammy Awards where his work was unveiled by Quincy Jones and Joss Stone and installed in the Grammy® museum. A few years later he was nominated as the artist for the 15th Latin Grammys. Roy created the genre known as impressionist mosaics, in which imperfections in natural materials create ethereal imagery, and as art director for Project S.N.A.P. his large-scale works have been installed in dozens of public spaces. Roy was part of the team that designed Disney's digital projection show "The Magic, the Memories, and You!".
