Regional Coordinator for ALLHAT (Antihypertensive and Lipid Lowering Trial to Prevent Heart Attack), is a study of 42,000 people in over 600 sites. It compared four well-known antihypertension drugs.• Monitored 35 sites participating in ALLHAT. Worked with all levels of medical personnel, from MD's to LPN's, to make certain the sites were compliant with study requirements; trained study personnel; conducted regular site visits to provide technical support and to monitor compliance. Sites ranged in size from 3 patients to 500 patients.• Selected to participate on ALLHAT Close Out Transition Team. This enabled me to work with the national leadership of ALLHAT to develop closeout procedures and training materials. In addition, was invited to serve on the Dissemination Committee to develop plans for the dissemination of ALLHAT results.
