For me: it's those light bulb moments, the productive struggle, the drive to succeed, the adaptability and malleability, and the innovation of students that make the life an educator so fulfilling. As teachers, the general expectation is that we pass on wisdom and knowledge to our students; but I believe that every day, our students teach us more than we could ever imagine. Our students are the windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors because they each have their own unique experience and story to offer. For our students, I believe that student center instruction, culturally responsive pedagogy, and curated and accessible instruction are the key to empowered learners. My passion lies in supporting diverse populations—especially Culturally & Linguistically Diverse learners (CLDs) / English Language Learners (ELLs). As a simultaneous bilingual myself and a language acquisition expert, I bring a unique perspective about best practices for our diverse learners.
