The main project I was involved in was the developing of a series of new supermarket-type stores in Romania for the company branded as “PROFI”, owned by Mid Europa Partners.The stores were to be built inside existing structures, which in some cases were subject to change of destination from housing to commercial spaces.All the spaces where measured prior to making a concept for the store.I was tasked with Implementing the concept in a measured space, checking what changes have to be made in accordance with the law.The concept included the creation of scale drawings and graphical images of structures prior to construction, checking if the fire safety regulations are met and preparing the emergency scenarios.The concept would then be presented to the client in order to see if it is up to standards.After the concept was accepted we prepared all the documentation needed for obtaining permits and opinions from various state institutions in order to assemble dossier of the permit file.

TThe main activity I was involved in was developing industrial buildings, both structurally and architecturally, from the concept phase until the final phase in which the client receives the key of the building.Clients were European companies who wish to expand their manufacturing sectors and needed technical advice on implementing their new project.I actively took part at the discussions with customers and with production line technology manufacturers, in order to understand the technological line and the client’s needs.After the first discussions with the client, a concept is prepared, including both architectural and structural components. I was involved in developing the building concept by creating scale drawings and graphical images of structures.I also checked if the fire safety regulations are met and prepared the emergency scenarios.Based on the concept, the estimated price offer for building materials is presented.After the concept is approved, the contracts are signed and the general delivery terms are set for both the project and the execution phase.My responsibility was preparing the documentation for obtaining opinions and permits form different state institutions and assembling the dossier for the building permit.In most of the projects, my employer was also the general contractor that sub-employs other firms to cover the part of the installation and interior finishing.As such, my responsibility in this stage of the project was coordinating and supervising the design implementation on site.I prepared sub-contractor documentation and verified that is in compliance with the contractual terms. I visited sites and had direct contact with the site manager.I prepared the documentation for the final reception of the building with the accredited institutions and with the project’s beneficiaries.

The project I was involved in was restoring and reinforcing the structure of the National Theatre cupola.After a strong storm, the cupola of the National Theater rotated horizontally about 20 cm. To remedy the structural problem, technical expertise was needed, and with a few of my colleagues we helped our professor to do the expertise.I attended site visits and measured all of the roof. On the basis of what I measured, we drew the structure of the entire roof so that the professor could give a technical solution.

The main project I was involved in was the restoration of the old theater building in Blaj, Romania.After sitting in ruin for more than 20 years, the Blaj municipality made an architectural contest in order to give life to this iconic building, which had been ravaged by fire.The main goal of the project was to create a multipurpose space suitable for a wide variety of events, from theatre performances to exhibitions and conferences.The way to achieve this was to strip the building back to its raw structure, creating new spaces while also leaving distinct traces of the building’s history.Our project won first prize, for more information please access the link below.
