I am hard working, organised and career driven. I enjoy working with others in a team but I am well motivated and also enjoy working alone. I like to learn from my colleagues and find that I am suited to a role where I am able to communicate with a diverse range of people. When training I pick up systems with ease and always ensure that I am up to company standard as soon as possible.I enjoy working to targets and find that this makes me a determined and focused employee. My background had been in hospitality focusing on Customer Service and Sales, however I have been involved with all aspects of Hotel and bar work.I now have over three years experience employed by companies who provide work based learning.I have been lucky enough to have been involved in many aspects of this sector, which has given me a good working knowledge of the industry.

Weddings And Special Events Sales ExecDe Vere Belton Woods Mar 2005 - Oct 2008I started at the Hotel as a telephonist but I quickly aspired to gain more knowledge of the hotel industry and when a full time position became available I was promoted to a Receptionist. During my time on Reception I was responsible for taking payments and cashing up, placing and taking in money orders. As a receptionist I also assisted the Reservations department with room bookings and up selling when they were not available.I really enjoyed the sales aspect of Reservations and so when a job became available the manager employed me there straight away. Here I was responsible for taking incoming calls for room bookings and queries, as well as organising small golfing breaks, spa breaks and wedding room reservations. Up selling was a bit part of the job, we also took card payments, processed cheque payments and sending out correspondence. When the Reservations manager left, I was asked to take charge of the small team, sorting out rotas, wages and complaints. I was also put on a management course by the Revenue manager. In December 2007 all ‘in house’ Reservation teams were made redundant and I was asked to take over a newly created position of the Resort Desk, here my challenge was to contact all guests that had booked and up sell rooms, champagne, golf, beauty etc. During my time on the Resort Desk I took it from strength to strength, On average taking in on average an extra £7,000 a week just in up sells.Although I then had some other roles within the Hotel, but the last role I had before leaving was Wedding and Special Events Sales Exec. I was responsible for meeting clients to discuss their functions and requirements, booking them in and then co-ordinating the event right to the last day. During my functions I would usually stay late to help supervise the function staff. Although only in this role for a few months I managed to take over £300k worth of business for the Hotel, achieving all my sales targets and heavily contributing to the sales team targets.
