About Felicity Holden (Wright)

I have recently been promoted to Senior Ecologist at Ramboll, based in Southampton and have worked here since 2020. I am proficient at undertaking Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and carry out a range of field surveys, including UKHab and protected species surveys. I am currently working towards obtaining a dormouse licence from Natural England and am an accredited agent on a colleague's licence. I am a registered STEM ambassador and am excited at the opportunity to encourage school children into science-based careers; I have spoken to several groups of primary children about the importance of nature and how we can protect and enhance our natural world.I previously obtained a Distinction in a Conservation and Biodiversity Master of Science Degree from the University of Exeter, where I partook in extra-curricular activities, including volunteering with the National Trust and the Cornwall Beaver Project. In addition, I completed a laboratory-based internship, looking at the impacts of agri-environment schemes on bumblebee populations. My six month MSc project looked into moth migration; I used a long-term data set to understand there some of the most abundant moth species that migrate to the UK’s come from.I have volunteered with the Scout Association for many years, and was part of a small team that organised an expedition to Africa in 2017. We successfully took over 100 Scouts to rural Tanzania for a month, and completed five community based projects. We left a long-term legacy to improve the lives of thousands of Tanzanians and made a positive impact on the young people that we took with us; giving them a greater understanding of the world and of themselves. I am a Sea Scout leader at a local group which provides young people with skills for life and the opportunity to take part in a range of water sports.
