Enova Community Energy, a community-owned renewables electricity retailer with a not-for-profit arm, was established in 2016 to create resilient communities through a decentralised energy model.Through cultivating a team, customer and partner-centric ethos, I led Enova to be recognised as the greenest electricity retailer and best in customer service nationally (awarded Green Retailer of the Year concurrently by CHOICE, Green Electricity Guide by Greenpeace, Canstar and Finder). Achieved customer growth of 128% and 245% growth in revenues in 3.5 years. Fostered a customer-centric focus resulting in extraordinary customer loyalty, and created and nurtured a culture of wellbeing, ethics and integrity amongst the Enova team and leadership team.Led and implemented Enova’s strategic vision to create resilient and self-sustaining communities, through distributed and decentralised renewables.Upheld strong governance principles, and worked collaboratively with Board members on strategy, risk, finance and governance. Actively managed significant energy market, global, regional and project risks and policy changes in a dynamic and complex environment and maintained an excellent compliance record.Pioneered Community Energy and delivered Australia’s first Solar Garden enabling disadvantaged households to access solar; the Byron Bay Industrial Estate microgrid; and an electric vehicle community bulk-buy.Supported distributed renewable energy with 40% of Enova’s energy generated from Enova’s own customers’ rooftops, the remainder from a renewables’ generator.Led three retail electricity market expansions across NSW and Queensland.As a Director, I served on the Board of Directors. I prepared monthly Board papers, reporting and collaborating with the Board.

Jemena provides gas and electricity to over 1.8 million customers on the east coast of Australia through its $11 billion distribution and transmission networks.At Jemena, I developed and led a retailer engagement strategy to reinvigorate electricity and gas retailer relationships with Jemena. Concurrently, I managed new metering requirements for Jemena’s commercial and industrial gas users, and led external and internal cultural change focusing on a customer-centric model.

Providing electricity market strategic and business planning services.

Pooled Energy, a technology start-up and electricity retailer, offered a bundle of electricity, and automated swimming pool services to deliver energy efficiency and cleaner, healthier pool water to consumers.In my first four months at Pooled Energy, I founded the retail electricity business and commercialised the business from purely R&D to customer-facing and revenue generating. I developed and launched consumer offers and pricing for household and business electricity and swimming pool services, and delivered maiden revenues in my first 8 months. I developed & launched the Pooled Energy brand, website & sales and communications strategy. I implemented a retail billing system, established revenue assurance procedures, regulatory and compliance frameworks and managed customer experience. Australian Power & Gas, an electricity and gas retailer, supplies power and gas to close to 350,000 customers. Developed Australian Power & Gas Electricity & Gas’ Innovation Program.Delivered innovation to reduce customer churn and improve customer profitability by delivering APG’s smart meter web portal “Australian Power & Gas Plus” to help customers manage their energy use - first Tier 2 retailer to deploy a smart meter portal.Launched 4 new online sales channels - iSelect, Make it Cheaper, Bundl, One Big Switch.Delivered APG’s Carbon Market Strategy across NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) and Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme.

Low Energy Supplies & Services specialised in delivering energy efficiency to households and businesses through the installation of energy efficiency technology, generating carbon credits.As 2IC, influenced a team of 50 across two states achieving positive cultural change.Managed generation, trading & scheme accreditations of approximately 2 million carbon credits. Diversified LESS from one revenue stream in one state, to a multi-revenue stream business in four states.Advised Kuwaiti Government in Kuwait (2010) on energy efficiency and renewables. I reported into the CEO. As a Director, I served on the Board of Directors.

I managed the $40 million NSW Treasury Loan Fund available to state government agencies to facilitate energy and water efficiency upgrades.

SEDA was constituted in 1996 under the Sustainable Energy Development Act to bring about a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and to encourage the development, commercialisation, and use of sustainable energy.I managed the Energy Smart Homes Program, the foundation for NSW Department of Planning’s BASIX requirements. Implemented the policy with 60 councils, covering 80% of NSW new residential development.
