Felicity has a diverse engineering background and highly refined skills in communicating technical information. She is a problem solver and thrives on researching technical solutions and is passionate about using her skills to affect positive and sustainable change. She has experience working with international brands trying to mitigate their GHG impact throughout the supply chain. She is currently involved with designing National Land Monitoring Systems and Nesting Frameworks to enable crediting of voluntary carbon projects in the context of Article 6 and alignment to these countries NDCs. She has experience conducting remote consultation in the context of developed and developing nations alike and delivering high quality consulting outcomes. Recently, she conducted capacity building remotely for the Philippines as preparation for the UNFCCC FRL review process. She is the co-author of a discussion paper and generated methodologies to allow a proposed category of forest credits to align with the ICVCM core carbon principles in New Zealand.

Felicity joined NZM as she wanted to make a broader impact on the agriculture industry. Her role at NZM saw her applying her diverse range of skills to a new regenerative agriculture program, ZQRX, and working to ensure there was science and substance behind marketing claims. She became deeply involved in carbon markets and understanding the pathways to incentivise farmers to reduce their GHG emissions. She also gained experience working with international brands wanting to mitigate their GHG impact through the supply chain.

Felicity has worked on her parents’ farm, at any opportunity, for most of her life. She returned from her overseas travel and work to manage and support her father through some tough periods on the farm. Additionally, I used she analytical skills to interpret 30 years-worth of handwritten performance metrics and to complete submissions for the freshwater policy, the emission trading scheme, and dealing with MPI regarding the farms M-Bovis status

Felicity's role was to identify problems in manufacturing process, optimise these and find ways to demonstrate the effectiveness of Enztec’s processes to meet strict medical industry regulations and standards. She was also involved with introducing new processes and training staff. Felicity was trusted to work independently, setting her own timeline and being accountable for the results.

Felicity's PhD research topic was titled “Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) for optimisation and performance in non-diabetics”. The aim of this research is to investigate how CGM devices can enable optimal control of blood sugar levels through accurate delivery of nutrition (and insulin) to non-diabetics, particularly critical care patients, and athletes. This project involved high level technical research and problem-solving skills, as well as clinical implementation

Three months work experience where her task was to quantify the effect of timing delays and calibration blood glucose measurement errors on hypoglycaemia metrics in new-born infants and using advanced signal processing on CGM signals to determine if this analysis could provide an indication of mortality.

Felicity's PhD was jointly supervised between the University of Canterbury and the University of Liege. This joint supervision provided her the opportunity to live and work in Belgium for one year. This year abroad has given Felicity a greater insight to the different cultures and research approaches in Europe.
