As a BACP accredited Integrative counsellor I work with a wide range of issues, including symptoms resulting from trauma, abuse and disrupted attachment. Also with those with mild to moderate mental health issues, and/or sensory or learning difficulties.I believe everyone has the ability to live in healthy relationships with others and therefore place high value in the counselling on co-creating the relationship between clients and myself. I offer a warm, safe and confidential space where they can explore perspectives and feel heard, accepted and valued for who they are. I incorporate Psychoeducational Aids and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and with younger people, where appropriate, can work with parents too to help them understand how they can offer support. UKAGP (United Kingdom Association of Gestalt Practitioners)Hope Matters Counselling is my own small private practice for adults, couples and young people.I work as a voluntary counsellor with adults at Willows Counselling, Swindon and as a counsellor for Teens in Crisis(TIC+), a Gloucestershire children and young people's agency. In TIC+ I also work part time as the Student Team Leader, where I support student counsellors in all aspects of their placements. As a Christian, my personal faith is central to everything I do, though I enjoy working with clients from all faiths and from none. Previously I worked as a teacher of the visually impaired and I would like to use this special educational needs experience in my counselling by working with clients with learning difficulties and sensory impairments.
