At times, I also temporarily assisted with the Foundation/Year 1 and Year 5/6 classes. My main responsibilities included planning lessons in accordance with the curriculum (whilst considering ILP's), differentiating classes to suit students in multiple year levels within the one class, providing consistent support to students, incorporating topics that students were interested in into lessons, and building relationships with students (even during limited timeframes due to the nature of relief work).I also completed my final University placement at Chum Creek Primary School through the Covid-19 lockdowns. During this time, I had to be adaptable and show initiative when students were required to learn from home. I assisted with managing the Google Classroom for the class in which I was placed, and also generated a number of lessons that could be printed and left for students to collect if they preferred that over using the computer for learning. I had to monitor the chat through Google Classroom in case students had questions, whilst also thinking of additional work for some students to complete if they completed their set work earlier than was anticipated.
