I was Head of Legal and Company Secretary for M+W Group’s UK/Irish operations (4 companies with a collective turnover of £500m c2014) reporting directly into the Regional Directors and M+W Groups General Counsel based in Stuttgart, Germany. M+W UK was a leading engineering and construction partner for technology-based clients, within the following industry sectors: Electronics (inc. Semiconductors), Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Science & Research, Energy including Nuclear and Renewable Technologies, Automotive and Space & Security.

Whilst with Invensys my responsibilities included: reviewing contracts for tendering purposes (ranging from less than £1m to £75m plus); the drafting and negotiation of procurement agreements; negotiating software licences and IT development contracts; and advising on post-contract administration and management (including the management of contract disputes and claims). I also coordinated the legal advice provided by outside counsel in a number of areas: project based claims, employment law, data protection and IP.

I started Solutions with my business partner, whilst completing the Bar Exams. As a consultant, I gained experience in a wide range of fields; commercial, construction, IP, IT, nuclear, and rail, where my most notable clients included the companies formerly known as British Energy and Westinghouse Rail Systems. I provided commercial and legal advice and guidance on risk management.
