Since I was a kid, I always liked to be challenged. All games that I played in my Super Nintendo/Atari video games were set up to hard level. I tried until I could complete the game. I loved to play Sudoku, solve hard puzzles problems. Later on, I figured out my passion for Mathematics. When I was in 7th and 8th grades and then high school, I solved all the problems of my Math books. This gave me a lot of insights and I could help my peers, what gave me experience in several levels of teaching; I helped my peers at university too. Naturally, I decided to get a degree in Mathematics in the most competitive university in my hometown, UnB. This changed my life and I could see a new world! When I got my degree I decided to go further and get Master's degree in Abstract Algebra; it was very hard. After graduation, I was selected in a competitive process at UnB for an adjunct professor position. Hence, I taught for two years. But, then I wanted to challenge myself once more. I wanted to change radically, so I decided to get my Ph.D. degree in an applied field and in another country. Hence, I learned English by myself and got accepted for the PhD program in Electrical Engineering at UTEP(another big change in my life)...At UTEP:Over four years of experience as assistant instructor, PhD teaching assistant, PhD research assistant, or tutor at The University of Texas at El Paso in the department of electrical and computer engineering. Research focused on signal and image processing with applications of compressive sensing in the reconstruction of sparse images or signals. Recipient of scholarships from Texas Instruments and Pan American Round Table of El Paso. At UnB (Brazil)Two years of teaching experience in the department of Mathematics at the University of Brasilia, Brazil.
