• Part of the Database Security Operations team within Data Management Services (DMS) providing operational data security practice for the Sun Life enterprise data environments worldwide• Provide operational security oversight for Oracle, MS SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB, Mainframe (DB2/Z, IMS, DataSets) and Hadoop environments supported by the DMS department• Security oversight duties include stewardship of the Guardium Data Protection environment for Data Activity Monitoring and Data Encryption, SOX compliance, internal security initiatives affecting DMS• Operational custodian of all aspects of the Guardium Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), Guardium Data Encryption and Vulnerability Assessment (VA) infrastructure• Establish, implement security best practices within the database environment, including but not limited to hardening scripts, audit documents, compliance filings, etc. (SOX and HIPPA compliance reporting)• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of database vulnerabilities and emerging threats, monitor database environment for adherence to security standards • Work closely with the infrastructure and client DBAs & with other team members, leads, management, and application support teams to ensure consistent delivery and quality of database services• Performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of issues within Guardium security suite • Support project development following documented standards, policies and procedures (Change Management Process)• Lead a project to build the process to report on the database servers vulnerabilities & security investigations• Contribute with ideas for best practice, process, and innovative solution improvements• Participated on the 7x24 rotational on-call duties• IBM Guardium Data Protection portfolio (Guardium Data Encryption, key management, Vulnerability Assessment for both Distributed & zOS/Mainframe environments; Integration with SIEM systems (e.g, QRadar, SPLUNK)
